It's always nice to have a little insight into people's daily lives and see what they get up to... This is why I asked one of our directors to give us a rundown of her daily routine to show us how she runs her business and leads her life as a director, mother and wife!
I start my morning with a refreshing daily run! This is important to get my blood flowing and helps me feel energised and ready for my day! Once back home I have some breakfast, I like to have natural yoghurt with honey, banana and mixed fruit.
Then its time for the school run. I have a 12 year old boy so getting ready in the morning can sometimes be a task... The school isn't too far from our house so it doesn't take too much time and I'm back home before I know it to start my working day.
The first part of my working day involves checking my emails for any client queries or jobs that need to be completed. Communication is key in my line of work so it's very important to me to keep on top of my emails and all other communication channels.
I then like to check in on our socials to see what's going on in the world. I especially like LinkedIn as they have posts that are more relevant to my field and more relevant news that may impact my business. In our current climate it's important to stay on top of current events and learn about what's happening in our world.
Next I carry out audits and reviews... Yes this is as thrilling as it sounds! I make sure I'm constantly on top of my work, even the not so exciting bits, to help me feel accomplished by the end of the day!
Then we're on to video calls and teleconferences. As previously mentioned, communication is key in my line of work so I like to talk to clients and other people relevant to my business to ensure that I'm up to date on everything that I need to know.
Probably the most trying task of all, rescuing the post from our rescue dog Monel! He can be quite temperamental and likes to take this out on objects, predominantly our daily post. He's really a big bundle of fluff and joy with an acquired taste for bank statements and pizza delivery menus...
Getting back to work, I have to read through lots of documents to ensure that everything is in check and organised perfectly to help mine and my client's business lives run as smoothly as possible.
Arguably a fun task, hanging up on cold callers is my next job. Now strictly speaking this is a task that is carried out throughout the course of the day with more cold calls than you might think coming my way.
Lastly, but certainly not least, I'm finally able to eat dinner at a sensible time with my wonderful family. Family time is very important to me so I like to allocate my evenings to talking to various family members and asking them how their days are going.
