Do you ever reflect on your life and wonder how you came to be where you are today?
I’ll be honest I never had a scooby doo about which career path I wanted to take and I still think it’s absurd that we expect young adults to figure this out at such an early age. I guess I never really knew what I wanted to do until I was in my mid 40s and I’m 48 this year. What I can tell you is that I fell into a job at 18 with a pharma company as a result of a temp position. It was a job and I took it to appease my parents really. After 5 years I took a role in the fashion industry, I know, Pharma to Fashion how did that happen but I learnt that I had many transferable skills. However my network and passion for helping others took me back to the world of pharma where I have stayed for many many years. I have experienced many personal and work challenges over the years, who hasn’t but I truly believe that all my business and personal experiences have given me the strength to start my own business and has landed me where I am today. We don’t always know where we are going, just where we have been and your experiences are a true guide to where you may end up. It’s never too late to find yourself. So take time to sit back and reflect.
